Aw man!.... Was all packed up - had laptop, camera, the lot. Was planning to get up early this morning, fly all over the country (usual spots) and hoping that I'd be caught in town and would have to spend the night... To upload pics....
Definitely no flying for me right now… |
Poor bugger was flown up last night (you leave at 14h00 from JHB, arrive 18h00 local time in Libreville), got stuck in a hotel for the night (apparently worse than the one I was in!), and then flown first commercially to Port Gentil, then by caravan (small fixed wing) to the camp. The job of replacing a part that was needed literally took 10mins! It tested fine first time, he loaded up, went back down the hill to the caravan on the airstrip, had to wait until 3pm for when the plane went back to PG, then commercial to Libreville, and he leaves at 23h30 tonight, arriving JHB at 5h30 tomorrow morning! For 10mins work. I don't know how he was smiling...
Why drainage is kinda | …and this is a rainstorm in Onal |
Anyway, I did get a couple of hours in this afternoon, and the cloud (hopefully) looks like its clearing so should do a bit more tomorrow. Gave The Decimator another seeing to this evening before supper. It nearly killed me! I'm getting smart and upping the anti (level of difficulty) then plugging myself into the iPad and have to watch a full episode of "How I met your mother" before I can stop....
Here's a completely random question: those of you that have treadmilled before... Do you also get the feeling when you stop the walking... Uh, I mean running on the treadmill, that any forward movement you make (literally even just leaning forward) takes place at double speed? I swear when I walk back to my room it feels as though my legs are walking half a step ahead of my body. And like I'm on one of those travelators at the airport... I feel like I'm losing my balance backwards... So weird. Try it.
Clearly I am devoid of humour and interest this evening, if this is the best I can come up with to talk about... I would like to say a big thank you to the four or five people who reply to my messages (not quite so gracious to the rest of you... ;-) And I cannot apologise enough for my sister... And her new best friend Katia who lowered the tone for everyone, and made me too nervous to go and see how pastries are made...
;-) Just kidding, love ya girls!
